Nuggets coach Michael Malone tested positive for COVID-19 and has entered the health and safety protocols, a league source told The Denver Post.
Assistant coach David Adelman will serve as the acting head coach, the source said.
In addition, Jeff Green, Bones Hyland and Zeke Nnaji have all entered the health and safety protocol, a source told The Post.
Prior to Malone testing positive, two other Nuggets assistant coaches had tested positive, sources said.
As of Thursday morning, there were only seven healthy players available, including Will Barton, Bol Bol, Facu Campazzo, Petr Cornelie, JaMychal Green, Nikola Jokic and Davon Reed, who was set to sign his latest 10-day on Thursday.
The NBA mandates eight healthy players available, which could jeopardize Thursday’s game vs. Golden State.
Aaron Gordon, Monte Morris, Vlatko Cancar and Austin Rivers were all questionable on the team’s latest injury report.
In addition to Malone, Philadelphia’s Doc Rivers, Los Angeles’ Frank Vogel, Chicago’s Billy Donovan, Phoenix’s Monty Williams, Portland’s Chauncey Billups and Oklahoma City’s Mark Daigneault as head coaches who have recently tested positive for COVID.
